How to package your Duplo

There's no sorting or building involved — just a few simple steps to keep it safe in transit. Here's what to do, and what to avoid.

Packaging do's

Bag it up loose — no sorting needed

There's no need to sort by colour, piece type, or set. Tip it all into a bag or box together, just as it comes out of the toy box.

Give it a quick check first

Have a scan through for anything that isn't genuine LEGO Duplo — clone brands, regular-size LEGO, or other toys that might have got mixed in over the years.

Give it a wash if you can

Not required, but appreciated — a quick rinse in warm soapy water (or a spin on the top rack of the dishwasher, no heated dry) gets rid of the worst of the grime. Clean pieces are quicker for us to check.

Use a sturdy box or strong bag

Duplo is chunky and fairly hard-wearing, but a box that's falling apart can still split in transit. A used but solid cardboard box is perfect — no need to buy anything new.

Weigh the final bag before boxing

Once everything's in the bag, pop it on the scales one last time so the weight you post matches the weight you got your offer for. If it's a bit different, that's fine — we'll always confirm the final weight and price when it arrives.

Seal it securely

Tape all the seams firmly so nothing can work its way loose or fall out in transit.

Remove old labels

If you're reusing a box, peel off or cover any old shipping labels and stickers so the courier scans the right one.

Attach your prepaid label

Once you've accepted your offer we'll email a free prepaid label with a QR code. Stick it on flat and make sure no tape covers the QR code or barcode.

Post within 5 days

Please send your parcel within 5 days of accepting your offer, so we can weigh it and get your payment out promptly.

Packaging don'ts

Don't use a damaged or flimsy box

A worn, thin, or previously crushed box is more likely to fail in transit — especially with the weight of loose bricks in it.

Don't send it loose in a carrier bag

A single plastic bag isn't enough on its own — always put it inside a proper box or a strong, sealed postal bag so it survives handling.

Don't mix in other toys or clone brands

Anything that isn't genuine LEGO Duplo can't be included in your offer and won't be sent back, so it's worth a quick check before you seal the box.

Don't forget to remove old labels

Leftover shipping labels from a previous parcel can send your box to the wrong place — always remove or cover them.
