You've finally cleared the Duplo out of the playroom, and now there's a big bin and a simple question: what do you actually do with it? Here are the realistic options.
Option 1: Keep it for next time
If you're planning more children, or thinking ahead to grandchildren one day, keeping a bin makes sense — Duplo is genuinely built to survive being handed down. The catch: "one day" can mean years in the loft, so be honest about whether it'll actually get used again.
Option 2: Hand it down now
Friends or family with a toddler will often happily take a bin off your hands. Lovely option, but it relies on someone actually wanting it right now.
Option 3: Donate it
Nurseries, playgroups and charity shops can all make good use of Duplo. It's a feel-good choice, though many places prefer it reasonably clean and complete, which can mean some sorting on your end.
Option 4: Sell it
Because Duplo holds up so well, selling is the option that also puts a bit of cash back in your pocket — and unlike donating, a buy-back service takes it loose, mixed and exactly as it is, with no sorting required.
